Vipassana & Mindfulness

Mindfulness is the action of paying attention to the present whereas vipassana is the cultivation of a special kind of insight into the true nature of reality.

Originally, mindfulness and vipassana were non related terms. But in the modern western teaching of mindfulness meditation, the two are often used together.

Geshe Thubten Sherab leads this 16 minute guided Mindfulness meditation

Master Thich Nhat Hanh leads a 14 minute Mindful breathing meditation.

His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama gives this 13 minute teaching on calming a disturbed mind through mindfulness and calm abiding.

A short 20 minute guided Vipassana meditation by master B. Alan Wallace

Dr Miles Neale leads this short guided Mindfulness of breathing meditation

This is an 18 minute guided Vipassana meditation, suitable for beginners
