Rejoice in the Long Life Puja for Geshes at Kopan Monastery 9th Nov

To understand why a long life puja is essential, we must understand the value of the Guru. He is our guide in this life, the bardo, and future lives. He is immensely important. It is not a case where if we ask him to live he will, and vice-versa, but that to offer such a ceremony purifies our own broken samayas.

Geshe Lama Konchok

On Monday 9th November commencing at 5.30am, the long life puja, Namgyal Tongcho was recited by the monks of Kopan Monastery on behalf of Australian FPMT centres, with Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche presiding. The nuns of Kopan nunnery recited the Namgyal Tsechog puja. This was done for the benefit and healthy long lives of our Geshes.

All the sponsors name were read out during the puja and prayers dedicated for them and all sentient beings. The Kopan sangha said, ‘We pray the pujas will be most beneficial for all the Geshe la’s long lives, good health and happiness.’

We rejoice in the following offerings donated by students:
