Foundation Service Seminar in Australia May 2022

For the first time ever, a Foundation Service Seminar (FSS) will be held in Australia in May 2022, COVID permitting. Foundation Service Seminars cultivate our connection to one another and develop what Lama Yeshe called ‘that family feeling’.

Lama Zopa Rinpoche and Lama Yeshe in the early days of the FPMT

This five-day experiential retreat is designed to help us immerse ourselves in the
extensive vision and compassionate values of the FPMT’s founders, Lama Zopa Rinpoche and Lama Yeshe. It supports and nourishes those wishing to offer service to the FPMT, and explores practical spiritual tools such as the Inner Job Description, designed by Lama Zopa Rinpoche.

François Lecointre, FPMT’s Chief Operating Officer, will be the lead facilitator. The FSS will be held at Tara Institute, in Brighton East, Melbourne. Allys Andrews from Tara Institute will be the assistant facilitator. The course is planned to run from 18th – 22nd May.

François Lecointre

This is a great opportunity for those who would have liked to attend an FSS but were put off by needing to travel overseas to attend one.

The FSS has been described as the ‘FPMT immersion retreat’. It helps us develop a shared understanding of the FPMT mission set out by Lama Thubten Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche, and a firm basis to serve with joy within the organisation. We investigate the purpose and mission of the FPMT organisation, what it means to be an FPMT center, project or service, and how that vision translates into action for individuals.

Interstate or overseas attendees will be accommodated at Tara Institute or with local attendees where feasible. Course costs are not expected to exceed $300 with a modest meal and accommodation fee for those staying at TI.
