Geshe Sherab’s tour starts Fri 25th Oct in the Central Coast, NSW

We are very fortunate indeed to have renowned international touring FPMT teacher, Venerable Geshe Thubten Sherab, visit Australia for a national tour this year. Geshe-la is a hugely popular and skilful teacher, whose clear and concise delivery of Tibetan Buddhist teachings help even those who are very new to Buddhism gain understanding and insight. He has a warm and humorous manner, and is highly fluent in English, having lived and taught in the West for many years.

Geshe-la’s much awaited tour kicks off with teachings to be held on Friday 23rd and Sunday 25th October in Point Clare, on the Central Coast of NSW. (This replaces the schedule previously advertised by LPP). Geshe-la then continues on his national tour at the centres and study groups below.

Geshe-la is Resident Geshe at the FPMT’s Thubten Norbu Ling centre in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA. He tours for half the year, fulfilling the fervent requests to teach of his many students around the world in North America, Europe, Asia, Mexico and Australia.

Geshe Sherab was born in Nepal of Tibetan parents, and received his education at Kopan Monastery, Nepal, the spiritual centre of the FPMT. He completed his studies at Sera Je Monastic University and at Gyume Tantric College in India. He returned to Nepal after several years in the US to become Headmaster of Kopan Monastery.  Now a retired Headmaster, with more time to devote to meditation and to teaching, Geshe-la has been travelling and teaching at FPMT Centres and was also appointed to the FPMT Board of Directors in 2018, following a previous stint in 2001.
